02/16/2007 - Uniondale, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Randy Robitaille scored twice to lead the New York Islanders to a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins at Nassau Coliseum.
Mike Sillinger posted a goal and an assist for the Islanders, who have won two straight and three of five. Jeff Tambellini scored his first of the year, Jason Blake picked up a pair of assists, and Rick DiPietro made 24 saves for his 24th win of the season.
Glen Murray notched the lone goal of the contest for the Bruins, who lost for just the second time in the last six games. Tim Thomas stopped 34 shots in the loss, the second in his last six starts.
Sillinger notched the game-winning goal midway through the third period courtesy of some hard work and luck, as he sped by a Bruins defender, chased down Andy Hilbert's low wrister from the right circle, and slipped a backhander just inside the far post.
Robitaille provided a crucial insurance goal with 3:16 left in regulation, when he snapped a shot by Thomas from the right circle on a 2-on-1 break, then added his second of the night into an empty net with 23 seconds left.
The Isles got on the board with 3:04 to play in the first, as Tambellini redirected Sillinger's right circle centering feed past some traffic in the slot and under the crossbar.
Murray answered to tie the game with a power-play goal just 32 seconds into the second, finishing off a tic-tac-toe passing play with Phil Kessel and Marc Savard by sliding the puck off DiPietro's goal stick and between his pads.
The Bruins would not muster much offensively the rest of the way, putting just eight shots on net in the second and five in the third, as the Islanders clamped down defensively and came away with a crucial conference victory.

El Duque expected to throw Tuesday
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets pitcher Orlando Hernandez, sidelined at spring training because of arthritis in his neck, is expected to resume throwing on Tuesday.
Hernandez received a cortisone shot Thursday after leaving camp and returning to New York to have his neck examined. The 41-year-old right-hander is penciled in as the team's No. 2 starter behind Tom Glavine.
El Duque's health is a major issue for the Mets, who won the NL East in 2007 and came within one victory of the World Series. Their aging and unsettled rotation is a big question mark this year.
MySportsbook.com has the Mets as -110 favorites to repeat as NL East champions odds.
Hernandez went 11-11 with a 4.66 ERA last season, including 9-7 with a 4.09 ERA in 20 starts after the Mets acquired him from Arizona in late May. But he missed the playoffs because of a torn calf muscle.
New York already is without Pedro Martinez, out until at least midseason following rotator cuff surgery. Among those competing for starting jobs are prospects Mike Pelfrey, Philip Humber and Jason Vargas, plus veterans Chan Ho Park, Jorge Sosa and Aaron Sele.
Notes: Mets manager Willie Randolph is excited about two new utility players he could have on his bench: Damion Easley and David Newhan. ''Their value is really all over the place,'' Randolph said. Easley can play anywhere in the infield and could be used as an emergency outfielder, though Randolph said he would prefer to keep the veteran in the infield. Newhan, meanwhile, can play second base, third or any outfield position for the Mets. ''I love versatility,'' Randolph said. ''I love guys that can give me options when I need them to step in.''
